Promotes hydration and elasticity: Fucoidan attracts water and enhances the extracellular matrix. Research suggests fucoidan can stimulate collagen production and support wound healing. In vitro, it’s been shown to increase type I procollagen and inhibit enzymes that break down elastic fibers. Topically, it may help reduce wrinkle depth and improve skin bounce. It also has anti-inflammatory effects that can soothe redness. Fucoidan’s antioxidant properties protect skin from UV damage as well. (It’s a key “marine extract” in some high-end anti-aging formulations.)
